Stirling & Tayside – Local Guidance

The Agreed Routes Map for Stirling and Tayside can be accessed here.

The Regional Timber Transport Group has developed Timber Transport Management Protocols to provide guidance for consulting with the relevant Local Authority with regard to timber harvesting and associated road haulage operations.

As well as describing the recommended practices for notifying the Local Authority of the intent to harvest timber and transport it to market over the public road network, the Protocols also provide links to The Road Haulage of Round Timber Code of Practice and other industry good practice.

The National Forest Inventory 25-year projections of timber availability in Stirling, Fife and Clackmannanshire Council Areas and in Angus and Perth and Kinross Council Areas are available on the NFI webpages.

An interactive GIS map showing where timber is forecast to come onto the public road network and the volumes of timber expected on the local roads is available through the timber transport group.
