The Grampian Timber Transport Group (GTTG) covers Aberdeenshire and Moray local authority areas.

Formalised in 1999, the group meets two to three times a year.

Prior to this time, representatives from the forest industry and local authorities met informally to discuss road maintenance priorities and timber traffic.

The objectives of the Group are to:

  • Update timber traffic surveys at approximately five year intervals

  • Review and revise agreed routes maps for timber haulage as required
  • Provide a forum for discussion between timber growers, processors, hauliers and local authorities
  • Work in partnership to minimise or resolve any timber transport problems that may arise in the area.
