The Ayrshire Timber Transport Liaison Group was formed in 1998 and covers East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire, South Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire Council areas.

The group meets regularly.

The objectives of the Group are to:

  • Discuss local timber transport issues;

  • Maintain under review the routes used within Ayrshire for the transport of timber;

  • Review the infrastructure implications of future timber supply;

  • Secure, through collaboration, best management practice for timber haulage operations.
