The main objectives of the Group are to:

  • promote, maintain and, in due course revise the Agreed Routes Map for the Scottish Borders
  • liaise directly with adjacent Timber Transport Groups on any cross-border issues and indirectly with others through the Timber Transport Forum network
  • provide a forum for discussion of local community concerns about timber haulage
  • encourage and inform best management practice for haulage operations
  • provide a forum for discussion of local timber transport issues.
