The main objectives of the Dumfries & Galloway Timber Transport Group are to work in partnership to:
- avoid or resolve timber transport problems;
- develop and use best management practice for timber transport within Dumfries and Galloway;
- agree preferred timber haulage routes, integrating private and public roads to provide cost-effective and sustainable solutions;
- periodically update and review the agreed route map for timber transport.
